Cookie Policy

Last updated: 13 May 2026

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website or use an application. They help us recognise you, remember your preferences, and improve your experience. Some cookies are also used to measure how our service is used and to show you relevant content.

2. How We Use Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

2.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the app and website to function. They cannot be switched off. They are typically set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or filling in forms.

  • Session management and authentication
  • Security and fraud prevention
  • Load balancing and network routing

2.2 Functional Cookies

These cookies allow us to remember choices you make and provide enhanced features. If you do not allow these cookies, some features may not work correctly.

  • Remembering your preferences and settings (e.g. language, notification preferences)
  • Storing your marketing communication preferences
  • Keeping you signed in across sessions

2.3 Analytics Cookies

We use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with our platform. This helps us improve performance and identify areas for development. Data collected is aggregated and anonymous where possible.

  • Page views, user flows, and session durations
  • Feature usage and engagement metrics
  • Error and crash reporting

2.4 Marketing Cookies

We only use marketing cookies where you have given your consent. These may be used to deliver relevant communications and to measure the effectiveness of our campaigns.

  • Tracking whether you clicked a marketing email or push notification
  • Attributing app installs or sign-ups to a marketing campaign
  • Personalising in-app content based on marketing interactions

3. Your Marketing Preferences

We store your marketing communication preferences in our secure database so that they are portable and not dependent on any single device or browser. This means your choices are honoured regardless of how you access our platform.

We track the following preferences per user account:

  • Email marketing opt-in
  • Push notification opt-in
  • SMS marketing opt-in (available once a phone number is added to your account)

For each preference, we record the timestamp and the platform or surface on which consent was given or withdrawn (for example, “app_preference_centre” or “email_unsubscribe_link”). This creates a clear audit trail of your choices.

4. Managing Your Cookie and Marketing Preferences

4.1 In-App Preference Centre

Inside the app, go to Settings → Notifications → Marketing Communications. You will find three toggles:

  • Email marketing
  • Push notification marketing
  • SMS marketing

Switching any toggle off takes effect within seconds. Your change is recorded with a timestamp.

4.2 Email Unsubscribe

Every marketing email we send contains a one-click “Unsubscribe” link in the footer. Gmail and Apple Mail also display this as a prominent one-tap button at the top of the email. Clicking it immediately records your opt-out in our database and stops further marketing emails. Before each send, we verify that you are still opted in — so even if you unsubscribe between the time an email is scheduled and the time it is sent, it will not be delivered.

4.3 Push Notifications

On iOS and Android, you can manage push notifications at the operating system level via Settings → Notifications. You can also turn off marketing push notifications specifically using the in-app preference centre described above.

4.4 Browser Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of our website. Links to guidance for common browsers:

5. Third-Party Services

We use a third-party email service provider (currently Resend) to deliver marketing emails. The actual sending infrastructure may set its own tracking pixels or cookies to measure open and click rates. However, we store your opt-in and opt-out status in our own database, not in the email provider’s list. This means your preferences are preserved if we ever change email provider.

6. How Long We Keep Cookie Data

The lifespan of cookies depends on their type. Strictly necessary session cookies typically expire when you close your browser. Functional and analytics cookies may persist for up to 12 months. Marketing preference records in our database are retained for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period thereafter to maintain a record of your consent history.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of material changes via the app or by email. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.

8. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this Cookie Policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at [email protected].
